LOS ANGELES — Prime Video is trading the stage for a survivalist nightmare this spring. The streaming giant has officially announced that Pretty Lethal, a high-octane action thriller that blends the elegance of classical dance with brutal combat, will premiere globally on March 25, 2026.
The film, which serves as a spiritual successor to the intense “survival-thriller” genre, will first make its world debut at the SXSW Film & TV Festival on March 13 before arriving on screens for Prime members.
Plot: A Nightmare at the Roadside Inn
The story follows five competitive ballerinas whose journey to a prestigious Budapest showcase takes a terrifying detour. When their bus breaks down in a remote, dense forest, the fractured group—already struggling with internal rivalries—seeks shelter at a secluded roadside inn.
The inn is managed by Devora Kasimer (played by Uma Thurman), a legendary but reclusive former ballet prodigy. The girls soon discover that Kasimer has no intention of letting them leave. To survive the night, the dancers must weaponize their years of grueling physical discipline, turning their poise into “ballet-fu” to fight their way out.
A Powerhouse Cast
Director Vicky Jewson has assembled a blend of “Gen Z” icons and Hollywood royalty to bring this “grace-under-fire” story to life:

The film has already generated significant buzz for its unique action choreography. Jewson noted that the production aimed to use the extreme physical strength required for professional ballet as a foundation for the film’s fight sequences. Fans can expect to see everything from razor-edged pointe shoes to pirouettes used as lethal roundhouse kicks.
”In Pretty Lethal, I wanted to bring the highly specific skillset of a ballerina to the action space,” said director Vicky Jewson. “The troupe embraces teamwork, sisterhood, and ‘ballet-fu’ in order to stay alive.”
Produced by 87North—the powerhouse team behind John Wick and Atomic Blonde—the film is expected to be a “breathless rollercoaster ride” that modernizes the survival thriller for a new audience.
Pretty Lethal will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting March 25.
