HOLLYWOOD, CA – Academy Award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh has officially taken her place among the legends of cinema. In a vibrant ceremony held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Malaysian-born icon was honored with the 2,836th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The dedication, located at 6927 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, serves as a crowning achievement for a career that has spanned four decades and shattered countless glass ceilings.
A Celebration of a Trailblazer
Dressed in a striking yellow sleeveless Dior gown, Yeoh was joined by a “who’s who” of cinematic giants who have collaborated with her over the years. The ceremony featured heartfelt speeches from:
- Ang Lee: The director of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon humorously asked the crowd, “What took so long?” He praised Yeoh’s transition from an action star to a global dramatic powerhouse.
- Jon M. Chu: Her director for Crazy Rich Asians and the Wicked films called her a “beacon of hope and possibility.”
- The “Daniels”: Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All at Once) were also in attendance to support their leading lady.
Other notable guests included her Everything Everywhere co-star Ke Huy Quan, along with Sandra Oh and Awkwafina.
“This is Our Star”
In her emotional acceptance speech, the 63-year-old actress reflected on her journey from Ipoh, Malaysia, to the world’s most famous sidewalk. She admitted to a bout of “stage fright” before dedicating the honor to her fans and the Asian community.
”The star may carry one name, but it represents so many people who made this journey possible. I hope it reminds someone, somewhere, that it is possible. The way you begin does not define where you can go.” — Michelle Yeoh
Career Milestones
Yeoh’s star in the Motion Pictures category recognizes a filmography that has redefined the industry.
The ceremony follows a busy start to 2026 for Yeoh, who recently received the Golden Bear for lifetime achievement at the Berlin International Film Festival. Fans can see her next in the highly anticipated Wicked: For Good and the Chinese-language film Miss Rubik’s Cube, slated for release later this year.
