Hollywood, October 22, 2025 — The jungle drums are beating once again. Sony Pictures has officially confirmed that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black will return for the next installment in the wildly successful Jumanji franchise. Production on the untitled third film in the rebooted series is slated to begin in November, with a theatrical release planned for December 2026.
The announcement puts to rest months of speculation about the future of the franchise, which has grossed over $1.7 billion globally since its 2017 revival. Fans can expect the return of the beloved avatars—Smolder Bravestone, Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, Ruby Roundhouse, and Professor Sheldon Oberon—as well as new twists to the game’s ever-evolving mechanics.
Director Jake Kasdan is also back at the helm, promising a fresh adventure that expands the mythology of the mysterious video game world. While plot details remain tightly under wraps, insiders hint at a new setting that may push the characters beyond the jungle and into uncharted digital territory.
In a recent interview, Johnson teased the team’s return: “We’ve got something big planned. The chemistry we’ve built over the last two films is special, and we’re ready to take it to the next level.”
Kevin Hart echoed the sentiment with his trademark humor: “I’ve been working on my cardio just in case they make me run from another herd of rhinos. But seriously, we’re excited to give fans another wild ride.”
The previous film, Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), ended with a cliffhanger suggesting the game world might be bleeding into the real one—a premise that could set the stage for even more chaos and comedy in the upcoming sequel.
With the original cast reuniting and the creative team returning, Jumanji 3 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated blockbusters of 2026. For fans of high-stakes adventure, body-swapping hilarity, and heartfelt camaraderie, the game is far from over.
