Marvel Studios has officially greenlit Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, with writing set to begin next week. The announcement marks a major milestone for the Disney+ series, which has evolved from a reboot into a sprawling continuation of the beloved Netflix original.
A New Chapter for Matt Murdock
Executive producer Jesse Wigutow revealed in a recent interview that the creative team will reconvene in the coming days to begin crafting Season 3’s storyline. “We’re reconvening in the next week or two as a creative trust in a writers’ room,” Wigutow said, adding that production is tentatively scheduled for spring 2026.
Season 2, which is expected to premiere in March 2026, will reportedly feature higher stakes, intense fight sequences, and a climactic showdown between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). Wigutow teased that Season 3 will take the series in a “new direction,” leaving behind much of what was built in the first two seasons.
Returning Faces and Expanding the Universe
The ensemble cast includes returning fan favorites such as Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. New additions like Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor will also join the fray in Season 2, hinting at a broader Marvel Television crossover.
Marvel’s Head of Streaming Brad Winderbaum confirmed the renewal, noting that filming for Season 3 will begin in 2026. This comes after speculation that the series might end with Season 2, following comments from Charlie Cox that were later clarified by D’Onofrio.
A Gritty New York Tale
Wigutow described the show’s arc as “a very big portrait… a big New York City story, crime, politics,” with Mayor Fisk at the center of palace intrigue. But at its core, Born Again remains a character-driven drama about the volatile relationship between Daredevil and Kingpin.
As Marvel continues to recalibrate its television strategy, Daredevil: Born Again stands out as a flagship series—one that bridges legacy storytelling with fresh creative ambition.
