HOLLYWOOD — The Golden Globes have found their permanent leading lady. On Wednesday, CBS and the Golden Globes organization officially announced that comedian Nikki Glaser will return to host the 84th Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 10, 2027.
The announcement marks a historic “three-peat” for Glaser, who became the first woman to host the ceremony solo in 2025. After a streak of critically acclaimed performances that revitalized the show’s reputation for sharp, fearless humor, the “Queen of Roasts” is now firmly cemented as the face of Hollywood’s “Party of the Year.”
A Winning Formula
The decision to bring Glaser back for a third consecutive year follows a massive surge in the ceremony’s digital footprint. Her 2026 opening monologue, which featured biting jabs at industry titans and viral commentary on Hollywood culture, garnered nearly 14 million views across social media platforms within just 36 hours.
”We are thrilled to welcome Nikki back,” said Helen Hoehne, President of the Golden Globes. “Her comedic precision, authenticity, and ability to command the room is unmatched. We can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for next year.”
”Equal in the Eyes of the Lord”
True to form, Glaser accepted the gig with her signature self-deprecating wit. In a statement released shortly after the news broke, she joked:
”I’m thrilled to host the Golden Globes for a third time, not only because it’s the greatest gig I’ve ever had, but because my sister has three kids and now we will be equal in the eyes of my parents and the Lord.”
The Road to 2027
Glaser’s ascent to the Globes stage follows a career-defining period. Since her breakout performance at the Roast of Tom Brady in 2024, she has:
- Been named “Comedian of the Year” by The New York Times.
- Earned Emmy and Grammy nominations for her HBO special, Someday You’ll Die.
- Launched her international “The Stunning” tour, set to sweep Europe and North America throughout 2026.
Event Details
The 2027 ceremony will serve as the official kickoff to the awards season, honoring excellence in film, television, and the newly added podcasting categories.
With the 2027 hosting slot secured nearly a year in advance, the industry is already bracing for who—and what—might end up in Glaser’s crosshairs next January.
