LOS ANGELES — The cul-de-sac is officially staying chaotic. Peacock announced on Monday, April 13, 2026, that its hit mystery-comedy “The ‘Burbs” has been renewed for a second season, following a record-breaking debut that solidified the show as a streaming juggernaut.
The reimagining of the 1989 cult classic, starring and executive produced by Keke Palmer, premiered on February 8, 2026, immediately following a heavy promotional push during the Super Bowl. The strategy paid off: the series logged nearly 1.7 billion viewing minutes in its first two months, becoming Peacock’s #1 scripted original season of all time in terms of overall reach.
A Modern Spin on a Cult Classic
Created by Celeste Hughey, the series updates Joe Dante’s original film for a present-day setting. It stars Palmer as Samira and Jack Whitehall as Rob, a young couple who reluctantly move into Rob’s childhood home.
