NEW YORK — EGOT winner and The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg is officially adding “publisher” to her storied resume. On Monday, April 13, 2026, Goldberg announced the launch of WhoopInk, a new curated publishing imprint created in partnership with Blackstone Publishing.
The move marks a significant expansion for Goldberg, who has already authored more than a dozen books. WhoopInk is designed to be a “home for influential voices,” focusing on discovering fresh, diverse talent while collaborating with established authors across multiple genres.
A “Hands-On” Publishing Approach
Unlike some celebrity partnerships, Blackstone Publishing confirms that Goldberg will be “intimately involved” in the operations of WhoopInk. Her role spans the entire creative lifecycle, from scouting new manuscripts to overseeing cover designs and driving promotional campaigns.
”I am personally looking forward to finding new authors, working with established authors, and bringing influential voices into this curated imprint,” Goldberg said in a statement. “It’s about making the business bed bigger for everyone.”
The First Slate: Mysteries and Memoirs
WhoopInk isn’t wasting any time getting its first titles into the hands of readers. The imprint’s debut slate features a mix of new fiction and Goldberg’s own personal projects:
- Pignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives: The imprint will publish the next installment in this mystery series by Rick Bleiweiss, the Blackstone executive who originally signed Goldberg’s bestselling memoir, Bits and Pieces.
- **Bits and Pieces Paperback: The launch coincides with the paperback release of Goldberg’s memoir, which has been a commercial juggernaut since its 2024 debut.
- Untitled Memoir Follow-Up: Goldberg is currently working on a follow-up to Bits and Pieces, which will be released under the WhoopInk banner.
- Collaborative Works: Goldberg is also developing a book project with her longtime business partner, Tom Leonardis.
A Growing Media Empire
The launch of WhoopInk comes as Goldberg continues to diversify her business ventures. This news follows the 2025 global rollout of her All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN), the first 24/7 channel dedicated exclusively to women’s sports across 65 countries.
By entering the publishing space, Goldberg joins a high-profile group of industry leaders like Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Jessica Parker who have successfully leveraged their personal brands to champion literary talent. For Whoopi, WhoopInk represents a return to her roots in storytelling—but this time, she’s the one holding the keys to the library.
