CHICAGO — The fire is officially entering its final service. FX has announced that the fifth and final season of the critically acclaimed, Emmy-sweeping drama The Bear will premiere on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
The announcement confirms that the story of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto and his high-pressure kitchen crew will reach its “bittersweet” conclusion this summer, with all episodes streaming exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
The End of an Era
The decision to end the series with Season 5 reportedly aligns with creator Christopher Storer’s original vision for the narrative arc. While Season 4 (which aired in 2025) focused on the grueling reality of maintaining a Michelin-starred establishment, Season 5 is expected to deal with the “emotional debt” collected by the characters since the series began.
”It’s time to close the ticket,” FX Chairman John Landgraf said in a statement. “Christopher and his team have crafted a masterpiece that redefined the half-hour drama. While we’re sad to say goodbye to The Bear, we are thrilled to see how this journey concludes for Carmy, Sydney, and Richie.”
Returning Cast
The core ensemble, which has become one of the most decorated casts in recent television history, is set to return for the final bow:
- Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto
- Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard “Richie” Jerimovich
- Abby Elliott as Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto
- Liza Colón-Zayas as Tina
- Matty Matheson as Neil Fak
Insiders suggest that the final season will also feature the return of several high-profile guest stars seen in previous seasons, including Jamie Lee Curtis and Olivia Colman, as the show explores the “legacy and lineage” of the Berzatto family.
What to Expect: “The Final Burn”
Production for Seasons 4 and 5 took place largely back-to-back in Chicago to accommodate the increasingly busy schedules of its breakout stars.
The plot for the final installment remains under tight wraps, but the Season 4 finale left several threads dangling:
- The Review: The looming shadow of a make-or-break Chicago Tribune review.
- The Relationship: The fractured dynamic between Carmy and Claire.
- The Partnership: Sydney’s internal struggle over her future at the restaurant versus outside opportunities.
In keeping with the show’s tradition, FX will utilize a binge-drop model. All 10 episodes of Season 5 will be available at 12:00 AM ET on June 25.
Fans are already bracing for an intense finale. As Jeremy Allen White teased in a recent interview: “It’s not about whether the restaurant survives anymore; it’s about whether the people do.”
