LOS ANGELES — Apple TV has secured the television adaptation rights to Peculiar Stars, the upcoming standalone romance novel by Rebecca Yarros—the author behind the global Fourth Wing fantasy phenomenon.
The high-profile acquisition follows a competitive bidding war among multiple major studios and streaming platforms, landing the project at Apple Studios months ahead of the book’s scheduled publication on November 17, 2026.
Apple Studios will develop the property into a series, with Yarros serving as an executive producer through her Full Measures Productions banner. A search for a lead writer is currently underway.
A Castaway Romance
Published by Amazon’s Montlake romance imprint, Peculiar Stars marks a shift from Yarros’s dragon-filled fantasy empire toward a high-stakes survival romance.
The story follows Callista Moran, a young woman whose life is upended after a cyclone wrecks a routine sailing trip. Stranded on a remote island for 543 days alongside her fiancé’s cousin—an ex-army medic named Dominic—Callista forms a deep, transformative bond under extreme conditions.
