LOS ANGELES — Brittany Snow has officially joined the expanding ensemble cast of The Housemaid’s Secret, Lionsgate’s highly anticipated sequel to its psychological thriller hit The Housemaid.
The announcement was confirmed by Lionsgate and the film’s official social media channels, where Snow appeared in a promotional teaser posing with Freida McFadden’s bestselling source novel. She joins a stacked cast led by returning star Sydney Sweeney, as well as franchise newcomers Kirsten Dunst and Paul Anthony Kelly.
A Growing High-Stakes Ensemble
Snow—known for her roles in Pitch Perfect, A24’s X, and Netflix’s drama series The Hunting Wives—will portray Marybeth, an unassuming receptionist whose role becomes central to the unfolding mystery.
The film serves as the direct sequel to The Housemaid, which proved to be a major box-office success for Lionsgate, grossing over $400 million globally.
In The Housemaid’s Secret, Sweeney reprises her role as Millie, a housekeeper who accepts a position at a luxurious penthouse for Douglas Garrick (Paul Anthony Kelly) and his ill wife, Wendy (Kirsten Dunst). After being strictly forbidden from entering the guest bedroom or contacting Wendy directly, Millie discovers troubling signs behind the closed doors that threaten to unearth secrets darker than her own past.

“Welcome home, Marybeth,” the movie’s official account posted alongside the casting announcement, drawing warm reactions from co-star Sweeney and director Feig.
Creative Leadership and Release Schedule
Paul Feig will produce the sequel alongside Laura Fischer via Pretty Dangerous Pictures, alongside Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman and Sydney Sweeney through her Fifty-Fifty Films banner. Executive producers include Carly Elter and Alex Young.
Lionsgate secured rights to McFadden’s entire trilogy prior to the original book becoming a massive New York Times bestseller, laying the groundwork for a broader cinematic universe surrounding the franchise.
The Housemaid’s Secret is scheduled to open in theaters on December 17, 2027.
