VENICE — Supermodel Kendall Jenner has made her official acting debut, starring in the new art-house short film La Passeggiata for the September Fashion & Film issue of the film magazine A Rabbit’s Foot.
The project, written and directed by the magazine’s creative director Fatima Khan, channels the visual language and cinematic style of 1960s Italian cinema, drawing inspiration from icons such as Monica Vitti.
A Cinematic Tribute to the Italian Evening Stroll
The short film centers on the traditional Italian ritual of la passeggiata—the communal evening stroll—transplanted from Mediterranean streetscapes to Los Angeles.
- Wardrobe and Visuals: In the opening scenes, Jenner appears in a vintage-inspired white lacy bra paired with a sheer black skirt, trousers, and stockings held up by suspenders. Throughout the short, she rotates through high-fashion pieces, including archival looks from Jean Paul Gaultier, Jil Sander, and Bottega Veneta.
- Artistic Direction: Khan noted that the project was designed to capture the insouciant, mysterious screen presence of mid-century European film stars while exploring the intersection of fashion and narrative storytelling.
Transitioning to Screen Performance
Speaking on her transition into acting, the 30-year-old model reflected on her long-standing fascination with cinema.
”As an outsider, I’ve always been captivated by cinema, especially the extraordinary amount of collaboration it takes to create stories that remain with you for a long time,” Jenner shared in the accompanying cover feature.
The release coincides with Jenner’s high-profile appearances at the 83rd Venice Film Festival, where she attended festival events as a brand ambassador. Representatives for the production have not announced whether Jenner plans to pursue further narrative film projects following her short-film debut.
