LOS ANGELES — Fans of high-octane action are in for an explosive late summer. Amazon Prime Video has officially announced a massive, back-to-back rollout schedule for its expanding Reacher universe, scheduling the return of its flagship series in August and the highly anticipated debut of its first standalone spinoff in September.
In a perfectly synchronized scheduling block, Reacher Season 4 will premiere on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, leading directly into the global launch of Neagley on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The August Kickoff: ‘Reacher’ Season 4
The blockbuster action drama starring Alan Ritchson will return to screens earlier than expected, building on the momentum of its recent Season 5 renewal. Prime Video is utilizing a unique hybrid release strategy to anchor its mid-week viewing block:
- The Launch (August 12): Season 4 will kick off with a three-episode binge drop on premiere day.
- The Weekly Rollout: Following the premiere, new episodes will drop one by one every Wednesday.
- The Finale (September 16): The eight-episode season will reach its conclusion in mid-September.
This upcoming season adapts Lee Child’s 13th Jack Reacher novel, Gone Tomorrow. The narrative thrusts the titular drifter into a lethal, high-stakes game that begins with a tragic subway suicide in New York City and rapidly unspools into a massive conspiracy involving corrupt politicians, the Pentagon, and global terrorism. New faces joining the fray include Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, and Kathleen Robertson.
The September Takeover: ‘Neagley’ Season 1
Rather than making fans wait months for their next fix of military-grade justice, Prime Video is pulling a brilliant programming maneuver. Immediately following the conclusion of the Reacher finale on September 16, the streaming giant will drop all eight episodes of the spinoff series Neagley all at once.
The offshoot stars Maria Sten reprising her fan-favorite role as Frances Neagley, a sharp-witted private investigator based in Chicago and former military protégé of Jack Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit.
“When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice,” reads the official logline from Amazon MGM Studios. “Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.”
While the spinoff belongs entirely to Sten, Prime Video confirmed that Alan Ritchson will guest star as Jack Reacher, maintaining connective tissue between the two properties. The ensemble cast also features Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman.
Streaming Monopoly
The aggressive August-to-September rollout signals Amazon’s intent to completely dominate the late-summer entertainment conversation. By chaining its top-tier intellectual property back-to-back, Prime Video is ensuring that action junkies stay firmly locked into their subscriptions straight into the fall.
