LOS ANGELES — HBO has officially ordered Advantage Player, a new high-stakes gambling drama series starring and executive-produced by Emmy-nominated actress Riley Keough, as reported by Card Player.
The project landed at the premium network following a competitive bidding situation, bringing a riveting real-world underworld of card counters and casino operators to prestige television.
Inspired by Real-Life Gambling Legend Gina Fiore
The series is inspired by the extraordinary life and forthcoming memoir of professional gambler Gina Fiore, titled Advantage Player: A Memoir of Blackjack, Backrooms, and Beginnings, as detailed by Pokertube.com. Fiore spent more than two decades beating casinos out of millions using advanced techniques like card counting, hole carding, and edge sorting, eventually landing in a landmark legal battle that reached the U.S. Supreme Court.

A Daisy Jones & The Six Reunion Behind the Camera
Advantage Player serves as a major creative reunion for Keough and writer-showrunner Will Graham, who previously teamed up on Prime Video’s critically acclaimed limited series Daisy Jones & The Six, for which both earned Emmy nominations, according to Casino Reports.
