LOS ANGELES — Just days before its fourth season premiere, MGM+ has officially greenlit a fifth and final season of its breakout sci-fi horror hit, FROM. The announcement, made on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, confirms that the mystery-box series will reach its planned conclusion, ensuring the “Fromily” gets the closure they’ve been craving.
As the most-watched original series in the history of the network, the renewal marks a major commitment from MGM+ to see the story through to its “epic conclusion.”
A Planned Ending
In a joint statement, series creator John Griffin, showrunner Jeff Pinkner, and director Jack Bender expressed their excitement at finally being able to tie up the many threads of the nightmarish town.
”We are wildly excited to announce that we’ve officially begun work on Season 5,” the trio said. “Which means we will get the chance to see our story to its conclusion. Which means questions will be answered. Answers will be questioned. And there will surely be a cascade of tears and terrors in-between.”
By setting a definitive end date, the show avoids the “forever mystery” trap, promising fans that the secrets of the forest and the terrifying nocturnal creatures have a concrete origin and resolution.
Production Timeline & Location
Production for the final chapter is slated to begin later this year, returning to the show’s familiar, haunting backdrop in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
- Season 4 Premiere: Today, April 19, 2026, at 9/8c on MGM+.
- Season 5 Premiere: Expected to arrive in early-to-mid 2027.
- Global Distribution: Outside the U.S., the series will continue to be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
What to Expect in the Final Stretch
The series stars Harold Perrineau (Lost) as Boyd Stevens, the embattled sheriff struggling to keep a sense of order in a town that defies the laws of physics. The ensemble cast, including Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, and Scott McCord, are all expected to return for the final bow.
The official synopsis for the current fourth season teases that “the closer the residents get to the answers they seek, the more terrifying their search becomes.” With Season 5 now confirmed as the end, every discovery made in the current episodes carries even more weight as the stakes shift from survival to escape.
The “Peak” of MGM+
Michael Wright, head of MGM+, noted that FROM represents the “pinnacle” of the network’s original programming. The show has maintained a near-perfect critical standing, boasting a 96% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes across its first three seasons.
As the final season looms, the pressure is on to deliver a finale that satisfies the “mad passion” of its global fanbase. For now, the residents of the town remain trapped—but for the first time, there is a clear light at the end of the tunnel.
